I appreciate your good work, I really do. However, the BackWPup dashboard messages can get a little bit annoying. In addition to that, sommetimes they will never dismiss without running manual database queries. This is not a major issue per se. But if you maintain customer sites remotely, you simply have no idea whether a message re-appears in the dashboard. So, you have to log-in to each and every customer site to check for a message. Which is quite time-cosuming.

Can we remotely dismiss these messages via wp-cli or a database query?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    Thank you for reaching out.

When a notification is clicked, it should be dismissed automatically, and this works for almost all users. We discovered only a few instances where this problem occurs. Unfortunately, I do not know of any way to enforce this remotely other than reinstalling or updating the database.

Sorry, I mixed up 2 different topics. This is not about the never-dismiss-issue. This is most annoying but happens not very often.

This post is about the messages per se. I just don’t want them at all. However, if they can’t be disabled globally, could I run a command remotely to dismiss them? I just don’t want to have to log-in to each an every site.

In my humble opinion, messages that are not crucial for the plugin to work should always be optional.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

There are some changes scheduled in the UI of BackWPUp. I would advise waiting for the UI updates, which will be much more focused, even though I do not currently have the requested solution.

    I appreciate your patience.

Thank you. Please, don’t get me wrong. I am not a nitpicker. Yesterday, I logged in to a customer account and had to dismiss 3 (!) BackWPup notfications that took almost one third of the available space on my pretty large monitor. Many customers simply don’t know what to do with these messages.
