how to disable the Inline Linking tool from WP 4.5 ?

  • how can I disable the new Inline Linking tool from WP 4.5.
    I like the old one much more.
    When I click the gear icon and insert a link, the inline link tool does not go away. this is very annoying.

  • Marius, just FYI, I have the same problem as others have mentioned, and I have NO plugins in common with malkah. Not a one, surprisingly. I’m using Genesis themes on all my sites, and the problem occurs on all.

    Bless you, Nico! Just what I was looking for. I’m running with a lot of plugins these days that are just to undo changes to the WP core that don’t work for me. It’s too bad, when the old systems are clearly in place under the newer CSS versions, we can’t just have the options built in. I still miss the old media system.

    That plugin does not even activate for me due to some critical error.
