• Ultimate member forms by default come with a big blue button that says “Edit” on the “User” page. How can we disable that button? I do not want users to edit their profiles.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • You have an options to hide the edit option from settings.

Find which role there and go to “Ultimate Member > Roles” edit the role, where you have all options wether the User can edit it or not.

    Thanks for your response @kayapati

But I’m talking about the “Edit” button when you land on a user page from the “Member Directory”. I do not want users who browse for other members to have the ability to edit the said member’s profile.

    Hi @seed2launch,

Only Administrators and roles with capabilities to Edit other profiles can see that Edit Profile link in Member Directory.

Please try logging in as Member/Subscriber account so you will see the difference.

You can change the capabilities in WP Admin > Ultimate Member > Roles.

    Regards,

the “can edit other member profiles” option is unchecked in my case. and i’m logged in as a subscriber only.

however, “can edit their profile” option is checked.

fyi, i’m using a custom role, which is a clone of the “subscriber” role. this role was created using UM.
