How to disable product details link

I have several products that represent different levels of gift certificates that users can purchase. Given that there really isn’t any detail associated with these I want to disable the detail link. I see a custom field called ‘mg_disable_details_link’ but I can’t seem to figure out how that works. Can someone advise on how this might be done?
