Hi there, thanks for the plugin. It’s quite useful though, like others have mentioned, we’re looking forward to significant performance improvements with its implementation.

Regarding the New On-Page CSS Feature, is there a filter / how can we disable it for all users below Administrator level, or even just all users? We don’t want users adding on page CSS in certain cases.

  • Hello @rambillo,

    Thanks for writing to us.

I am afraid we do not have this feature enabled for the On-Page CSS, however I am going ahead to share this with the dev team. Once they is a go ahead to work on it then it will be included in the coming updates.

Please feel free to let us know whether you have any other queries.

    Regards.

    Judith.

Thanks for the response, Judith, and for letting us know there is no way currently to disable the New On-Page CSS Feature.

As a result, we will need to (temporarily) disable Spectra – WordPress Gutenberg Blocks plugin on our affected clients’ sites until the issue is addressed.

If I may request, please leave this issue open until it is addressed by the development team and publish any updates on progress. I imagine others will also find they wish to be able to control access to this new feature, either by the UI or by filter.

Also, FYI, Gutenberg v14.8.0 was released yesterday, which includes the addition “Global styles: Add custom CSS panel to site editor. (46141)”

Perhaps that renders this feature moot in this plugin then, and it be retired accordingly?

    Thanks again and happy holidays!

    Hello @rambillo,

    Thanks for writing back.

We’d like you to know that I have informed the dev team which is in the pipeline among other features the team is working on. Once this is worked on we’ll update our changelog.

I request your patience as we work on this.

    Regards.

    Judith.

    Hi @judith0

Is the issue “resolved”? Even with v2.3.0 released today, I could not see or find a filter / how can we disable the New On-Page CSS Feature for all users below Administrator level, or even just all users.

Perhaps I’m just missing it and appreciate some additional guidance. If it’s not resolved, please leave the issue open (or reopen it) until it is.

    Thank you!

    Hello @rambillo,

    Thanks for writing back.

The dev team has already added this to the priority list and will be working on it after a while as there are other features on the queue they are working on and so I may not be able to give a specific timeline as to when this will be worked on.

I would request you keep checking our changelog where we highlight all updates for new features and fixes, this would be better that having this thread open as we are not sure of the timelines of when this will be done.

Hope you understand. I request your patience and understanding.

    Regards.

    Judith.

    Hello,

We’re still here. Do you have any update on this issue? It’s not resolved, so no reason to close this or to mark this as resolved.

    Regards.

    Hello @rambillo,

This hasn’t been added yet, however I have already increased the priority of this request and so once there is an update I will let you know.

Thanks for your patience thus far.

    Hello @rambillo,

Thanks for your patience thus far.

An update from the dev team is that they have created a task for this and so this means this is a confirmation that it will be available in the coming updates.

I request your patience as they work on this feature.

    Have a good one!

Happy to report that with v2.4.0 released earlier today, we are now able to Disable the new Spectra On-Page CSS via the Spectra Settings tab. Thanks for getting this done! Closing the issue now as resolved.

    Hello @rambillo,

We are glad this is now a new addition that will make your experience with our plugin even better.

Please feel free to open a new thread in case of any other queries.

    Have a good one!
