how to disable dashboard news and blog dev

  • Is there some way to turn off the news and dev blog that gets added to the dashboard? It’s distracting and not of use for the person that owns the site.

    Also, I notice when I look at the sql file for any wp database that it is purely STUFFED with things related to this – more data there than in the rest of the tables put together.

    Any ideas anyone?
