How to Disable Contact Form 7 from sending out emails

I would like to use Contact Form 7 with the Mailchimp Extension to create a simple newsletter sign up form comprising of a single email address field with a ‘subscribe’ button.
However, I do not want the plugin to send out an email after the form has been submitted. I’ve tried emptying the field values under the ‘Mail’ tab on the contact form page but the plugin requires values for the fields as it MUST send out emails upon submission.
How do I make it so that no emails are sent out?

Under the form’s additional settings, enter
demo_mode: on.
This prevents the form from submitting you an email but will still add the subscriber to MailChimp.
