    Hi,

I want to rollback to the previous version, but as soon as I install previous version via ftp and go to options to disable auto – update, by that time (no matter how fast I am), it updates the plugin and brings the website down.

How to prevent it to do auto-update. Is there anything I can change in the config file in the folder so when I upload it via FTP, it does not do that and I can have a previous version of Wordfence, till solution comes up.

  • Hi pinaldave,

The auto update option is stored in the database table wp_wfConfig with the key being autoUpdate. So you can set the value to 0 for the autoUpdate key and that will disable Wordfence auto updates.

Another option is to check the box by the “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation?” option at the bottom of the Wordfence Options page. This will reset Wordfence to the default settings after a plugin deactivation/reactivation.

Great advice. I followed it up and now I am running with previous version of Wordfence, which works beautifully, before the current version broke the site.
