• I have wordpress+woocommerce website and the issue I am trying to fix is occasional surge in CPU usage. It happens sometimes 1-2 times a day and sometimes 3-4 times. And then there are days when it doesn’t happen at all. Since its not consistent I am unable to pin point the issue since disabling plugin one by one or theme is not going to help in such case.

I have however noticed that it has nothing to do with traffic on my website because on occasions when my site had high traffic, CPU usage didn’t touch 100% even once. But then there are days when traffic is low and still it shoots up.

Sometimes it happens and such an odd time like in the middle of night which makes me wonder what exactly caused it. Since most traffic on my website comes from my own country (India), there is usually very low traffic at night after 11pm.

Could somebody please help in understanding this issue so I can fix it? Just to be clear I use cloudflare along with litespeed cache since my host is using litespeed servers. Earlier I was using W3 Total cache and issue still persisted.

Install a plugin like wp-crontrol . Look at the upcoming tasks and make a note of those times, then check your CPU usage at/around the events. It may be that some maintenance tasks are your culprits.

Hello @sterndata. Thanks for the reply. I installed wp-crontrol and its showing a lot of entries with “setCompletedAfter12Days”. Any idea what this is? I have attached link to screenshot.

No idea. WooCommerce related? Something else that could be set complete? In any case, look at those “next run” times and see if they correspond to times of high CPU usage.
