Hello. I have inherited a website with your plugin installed. I would like to determine if the plugin is actually used for anything, and if I can remove it safely. I have opened Appearance–>Custom CSS, and it appears to be blank (screenshot). Does this mean I can safely remove the plugin, with no ill effects?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi @cag8f While I cannot guarantee this is true, I would assume that the plugin can be safely removed. This plugin only adds CSS, and the interface would display any CSS that it would be using. I recommend simply deactivating the plugin and testing your site. If everything looks okay after your testing, then it would be safe to delete it.

Please understand that I cannot guarantee this for 100% sure because I don’t have access to the site itself and cannot view its code.

@johnregan3 Thanks for the reply. But I’m a bit confused why you can’t guarantee anything.

    >> This plugin only adds CSS, and the interface would display any CSS that it would be using.

If the interface displays any and all CSS added by the plugin, and the interface is blank, wouldn’t it stand to reason that the plugin is not adding any CSS at all (and is therefore safe to remove)?

    >> I don’t have access to the site itself and cannot view its code.

What additional code would you have to view to confirm this?

    Thanks.

@cag8f I’m just trying to protect myself.

I’m 99.99999999% sure that, based on your description, removing the plugin from your site will be very easy and simple and go off without a hitch.

I’m just hesitant to tell anyone that making a modification to their site will be fine without me knowing anything about the site.

Based on your description, if I were in your shoes, I’d remove the plugin and expect no issues at all. Thanks!

    OK I hear you–no problem.

I just deactivated the plugin, and don’t see any obvious issues. So let’s consider this resolved–thanks very much.
