Is there a way to determine if an IP list has been blacklisted by WordFence (that is, it appears on WordFence’s “list of known dangerous IPs that is shared among Wordfence sites”).

    Also, what does a human see if he/she tries to visit a WordFence protected site from a blacklisted IP?

  • I would imagine they see the same blocked message everyone gets, from the site they try to access. Since the ip’s are sent to Wordfence scanning servers (watch the live scan sometime) I’m guessing that’s where they reside. Does that answer your question?

    My question is how do I determine if my IP address is on the WOrdfence blocked IP list. I joined a site that is built on WordPress. While trying to complete my profile (unsuccessfully) I started getting 403 Forbidden messages:

    Forbidden

    You don't have permission to access / on this server.

    Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    The sysadmin of the site has tried to sort things out on the server, clearing caches and what not, without luck. So I am trying on my own to track down the problem. I know the site uses Wordfence. I would like to know if the message I am seeing is what a visitor from a blocked Wordfence IP address would see, and/or if my IP address is on the Wordfence blacklist.

    If you were getting blocked by wordfence you would have a very clear page that not only tells you we are blocking you but also gives a reason for the blocking. The error you have looks like a problem of you being redirected to the root folder of the server. That’s an apache error and his apache error logs (mostly in /var/log/httpd) should give him clues on.

    Good luck!

    I am the admin of a site and I am using wordfence – no akismet.
    Unfortunately I am getting Forbidden written on my Chrome screen when I try to login.
    when i try from Opera – same thing.
    Help – i am unable to access the site admin.

    This is what i get in Page source

Forbidden

    //
    try{if (!window.CloudFlare) {var CloudFlare=[{verbose:0,p:0,byc:0,owlid:”cf”,bag2:1,mirage2:0,oracle:0,paths:{cloudflare:”/cdn-cgi/nexp/dok2v=1613a3a185/”},atok:”de95f98d3d23328faec17f0eb02400f9″,petok:”9aeea67c7f1b9d10e805e94db9b363aab1ddf3d5-1417488672-1800″,zone:”marryadevotee.com”,rocket:”0″,apps:{}}];CloudFlare.push({“apps”:{“ape”:”976dffa0cb21901842b354e50765dd58″}});!function(a,b){a=document.createElement(“script”),b=document.getElementsByTagName(“script”)[0],a.async=!0,a.src=”//ajax.cloudflare.com/cdn-cgi/nexp/dok2v=919620257c/cloudflare.min.js”,b.parentNode.insertBefore(a,b)}()}}catch(e){};
