• Hi every one,

We’ve set a new website recently, which is as below.
    https://www.business-in-the-uk.com/

I use a WordPress template. But currently, it still looks like a blog, with recent posts showing on the home page. We would like to make it into a website, with home page and subdirectory pages. The home page won’t change as new posts coming.

Can anybody give me some hint of how to design a website? Where to start?

    Thank you in advance!

remove the second top menu (the one with categories).

    remove that ‘popular posts’ section.

remove all the ‘posted by’ and ‘date’ code.

set permalinks to %postname% (will show page names instead of ?page_id-31 in the permalinks)

clean-up the sidebar widgets – remove any post, archive, category related widgets.

    disable or remove comment functions.

to do all the above and more, you will need to work your way through all the template files of the theme.

    A follow-up question:

    I’m using the ‘Bubbly’ template.

I read about, the style of the website depends on the template. Is it possible for me to generate a menu of subpages on the home page, like the one, ‘immigration cases’, on the left hand side of this website https://dev.cloudninecreative.co.uk/westkin/,based on the current template?

It seems those ‘immigration cases’ pages are static pages. Does it mean except pages and posts, I can add other static pages?

I’m a new learner of WordPress. Really appreciate your advices!
