• On the right side of the page there is the categories section along with some other items under it… for this page however, I do not want the categories sections, and instead I want to add the product menu as shown on this other page here: Link deleted again. Use the link field next time

How can I make this change? For some pages I want the category section, for other pages I want the product menu. How do I go back and forth?

How are the different widget elements accomplished now? The source HTML doesn’t look like a traditional sidebar is used, more like a two column page. Which editor are you using for pages?

I am trying to use the Gutenberger editor for new pages.

For some reason WordPress is not allowing me to use the Gutenberg and defaults back to a section that has a “visual” and “text” options..

This last page I had to go to Visual Composer, and then click on the Gutenberg editor to be able to work with it.

My visual composer is now cancelled, and I want to use the Gutenberg Editor, but as of right now I can’t open it to create a new page.

I woouldnt mind to delete the page and re-do it.. but how do I get the Gutenberg Editor and how do I put the menu I want on the side instead of the category section?

@tu586 Stop posting in Developing with WordPress. Again, it is the wrong place to post and I have moved your post to the correct forum. Again.

You need to get rid of whatever had been enabling Visual Composer. This is often part of a commercial theme. Look through theme settings to see if there’s a way to disable Visual Composer. If there’s no such setting, see if there’s a related plugin you could deactivate, or try asking through the theme’s dedicated support channel how it might be disabled. Worst case, you may have to switch to a different theme.

Ideally your theme would provide a page template that includes a dedicated sidebar. But the problem now is every page is expected to have the same sidebar content. Unless the theme has a built-in provision to selectively alter the sidebar content, some customization will be needed to allow this.

For example, an additional widget area could be defined. You’d select which sidebar to use on any given page by which template is used for that page.
