How to delete new role created by Capabilities

I wanted to allow a user to edit a page of my site and a video I found suggested PublishPress Capabilities and PublishPress Permissions. I followed the video and created a new role as the users name. I found that the new user could not edit Elementor pages so decided to reverse everything I had done. Unfortunately, Capabilities would not allow the new role to be deleted. I removed the plugins but the new role was still there and not deletable. Neither can the user be taken off ‘subscriber’. If I change the role to Editor and save the update, it just changes back to subscriber as soon as the page is refreshed. Could anybody tell me, please, how I can delete the new role and put everything back to how it was before? Thanks, Mike
