Hello, after importing, this plugin creates extra profile fields. I was hoping it would take fields generated by WP Members. Anyway, I deleted the imported users, but the “Extra Profile Fields” are still present, and they repeat a lot of information, such as the Jabber field, and so on, which should be part of the existing WP user role information.

Can you tell me how to delete the “Extra Profile Fields”?

    Joyce,

Maybe you can use the WP Members plugin fields at the same time but yes, you should use the same “meta_keys”.

    Anyway for:

You should deactivate the plugin. If you want some kind of checkbox for this… we can do it but we would need your support.

    Thanks.

I use an export file from WP Members using the Users export function in WordPress. But when I do that, and import using your plugin, instead of sending that data to the WP Members fields, which are already in the database, it creates brand new fields. Do you know how to overcome this?

The problem would be that: export file in WP Member has not the same header title than the one in the database (the meta_key which really is the important).

I see, I made the change using some of the WP Members “option_name” codes and that worked. I guess they name “meta_key” differently and then WP doesn’t export under Users properly.

It worked for the most part, but I noticed one of the custom fields in WP members with capitol letter in the option_name didn’t import.

Also the users are imported as both “Subscriber” and a custom User Role we set up with Tiered Pricing plugin by Ignite Woo. So some of the data shows up in different profile fields if you view the user in WP backend as a Subscriber (under the Subscribers list of users) or as our custom user role to use with Tiered Pricing.

    Joyce,

I don’t know how works WP Members and Tiered Priecing. I can only say that:
    1) this plugin works correctly when you set correctly the correct meta_keys, you can see it directly in MySQL
    2) you can set the role when importing

We can do it 100% compatible with WP Members and Tiered Priecing but yes, it would need a support from someone.

If you are interested, tell me.

Hello Javier! I just wanted to let you know that so far I’ve had success when using the correct meta_keys from WooCommerce, and then importing into the user role created by the Tiered Pricing plugin. I also made sure the meta_keys in WP Members Fields area matched the WooCommerce user meta_keys to help clean things up a bit. I’ll let you know if I make any new discoveries!

Hey there, I do have a similar problem. I have created user meta fields with the plug in “extra user fields”. Importing from your file creates a copy of those fields under “Extra profile information”. But they have the same data soure, changes to the original fields also change the new fields. But the meta cannot be deleted with a next import. An empty field is ignored, but i set to delete when meta is empty…Any idea? Wp 4.3.1

I imported one testuser and also tried to import “role” for him. After that, the roles of all my other members are messed up, even when I change them manualy again…Not sure what happened but this one import crashed my site and no chance for a rollback I guess ??

    Gabster1501,

For the first question: you have to deactivate this plugin in order to now show this fields. If you want, you can support the new functionality to do it using a checkbox (show / hide extra fields).

For the second one, I don’t know which data you have imported but yes, if you have updated your own user, there is a problem.

Please take care before using this kind of imports.
