How to delete "Back to top"
-
Hi there, I am using the latest version of the 2011 theme, and I wish to delete or hide the “Back to top” anchor text, which is on every page of a website that I’m setting up for my niece, Zoe. You will see it on the Home page of the website…. https://zoejohnston.co.uk/
I’ve set up a Simple:Press forum, which has appeared on the Forum page, which Simple:Press set up by itself. However, the “Back to top” text is positioned above the forum interface, which is inappropriate. Lowering the “Back to top” text with the Enter key, lowers both the anchor text and the forum interface below it.
I have been through all the .php templates in the Editor section of the 2011 theme … I can’t find the “<a href” code line for “Back to top” anywhere, so it must be in one of the installation folders for the 2011 theme. I gather that I can access these folders using my FTP client (FTP Commander). Please would you let me know in which installation folder it is? I should then be able to delete the line in Notepad++, and then re-install the installation folder. Also, please would you delete the “Back to top” anchor text in future updates of the 2011 theme (and in the 2012 one, if it’s the same)? It’s easy to set up your own anchor text, as you know. Cheers, John Hollins
