How to customize RSS feed in WP 2.7 ?

  • Hello, I was wondering if anybody can suggest how to customize an RSS feed in the latest WordPress version. In my case, I’d like to add a customized paragraph and some custom fields to each post in the feed.

    I opened up wp-rss2.php but it appears to redirect now. I googled around but couldn’t find anything that seemed to help.

  • Did you find any answers on this topic? I’ve been trying to change the excerpt from “more” to something like “read more at site.com” with a link back to the site.

    I discovered the feeds are created by these files within the wp-includes folder:

    – feed-atom.php
    – feed-rdf.php
    – feed-rss.php
    – feed-rss2.php
    – feed.php

    Of course any changes to these files will be overwritten on an update, but that’s where they are (for the curious).
