    Hello,
I’m using yoast Seo since a while and now trying to enable it also to set OG fields for facebook post sharing.

    But I have a problem:
now the SEO title is the same as OG:title, so this is what I get both on the “google” title and while sharing the link on facebook is: Title+Page+Separator+SiteTitle.

This is totally ok for me with google, but on Open Graph (for facebook) I need to keep only the post title and cut away separator and site title, because with all the four fields on when I share on facebook I get the title too long, occupying the second line and hiding the og:description field as you can see in this example: https://imgur.com/ZQpmcAA

What I want to do is to cut away the last two variables on facebook fields, so I get this: https://imgur.com/a5bweN0

The problem is that I can’t find a way to cut them only on OG facebook fields without cutting them also on meta fields for search engines.
    How can I do this?

At the moment I’m using a different OG plugin to set these fields, but I’d like to use yoast also for open graph if possible.

Thank you very much for your help.
    Best regards.

The Yoast SEO metabox allows you to set custom Facebook (or Twitter) titles, descriptions and images.

    Learn more here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/custom-open-graph-tags/

Please note that custom Open Graph/Twitter meta data must be added to each post/page independently but there is an open feature request to add default templates here.

    Hello, thanks for replying,
yes, I already read that page before posting my request, but I didn’t find any way to do that customization I was talking about without manually editing every single post on my website.

I see that the open feature request is from 2016, do you think is there any hope about it being actually added?

    Thank you,
    regards.

Yes you are correct in that it does require manually editing your pages and posts currently.

Regarding the feature request, whether a new feature is considered/implemented depends on the level of interest in it by users. We would recommend commenting on the feature request to be informed on it’s progress and also to indicate additional interest in the feature request.
