how to customize in template file

i have a theme like sweetdate in wp.in this theme buddypress theme is allready installed .and i want to make some customization in this theme .i create template file in page-templates folder and i want to add member-header.php file’s code in my emplate file but is doesnt display correctly .this files content some fileds and other fields does not content the original value.means the value not passed .so how to display correct value in this template file. ans me asap…..
