I’m wondering how to customize wording within the CRM system to match how we define things. For example, the out-of-the-box jetpack crm has QUOTES, and I’d like to change that verbiage to PROPOSALS because we don’t call them quotes. If anyone knows of the file I need to target or a suggestion, it would be a huge help.

    Hi @prd689,

Currently, Jetpack CRM isn’t set up to easily rename “Quotes” into Proposals (or anything else).

One part you can update, however, is the Quote templates:

    https://kb.jetpackcrm.com/knowledge-base/templating-how-to-change-templates-pdfs-portal-emails/

By templating, you can customize the Quote PDF and System emails related to Quotes. Otherwise, all mentions of Quotes within Jetpack CRM will remain the same, unfortunately.

I’m sorry we don’t have better news. I have added your inquiry to our feature request for our development team, however.

Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

I appreciate the reply. Would you be able to at least point me in the right direction for the appropriate directories/files so I can do it myself? There are a few things I’d like to change. Just some things like having Custom Fields on a Contact for Business show up in the Customer Vitals tab, rather than hiding a lot of potentially important info in a Custom Fields tab. To clarify, I’m trying to build this for people who don’t poke around to find information. I need it right in front of their face. Burying important customer info on another tab not listed as anything that a user would think to click is a hindrance. Even if I can change the tab name to something other than Custom Fields, that would help a lot.

Actually, I just found out where I can change the tab to what I want. Still though, I’d really like to be able to change out core menu verbiage if possible.

    Hi @prd689,

We have developer-level documentation so you can extend our core plugin to fit your needs:

    https://kb.jetpackcrm.com/article-categories/developers/

That said, please note that we cannot support or help debug custom code, as noted in our support policy:

    https://kb.jetpackcrm.com/jetpackcrm-support-policy/

Still though, I’d really like to be able to change out core menu verbiage if possible.

I understand — as I noted above, I have logged your request in our internal issue tracker. We don’t have an ETA, but please be on the lookout for new features that are coming soon:

    Hi @prd689,

I apologize for intruding on this topic but it’s a situation that has already occurred to me and I have a suggestion that is relatively simple and with little impact on server processing.

You can use WPT Custom Mo File plugin and upload a .mo file with the customized terms.

Let’s say you want to change every quote and quotes for proposal and proposals. Download the current .po language file for Jetpack CRM and edit it with POedit, for example, to change “quote” and “quotes”. Then, upload the resulting .mo file to WPT Custom Mo File and every instance will be translated as you wish. You don’t need to change the plugins language files, and that customization will withstand plugin updates (unless the base string is changed, of course).

I’m not sure I can add the plugin link here but you can search the directory.

It’s a lighter solution then using a plugin like Loco Translate.
