How to custom search result message when no post found

    Hi guys,

    I’m a new WordPress user and I’m exploring the free version of the Neve Theme. When performing searches on the blogs page and when the search has no results, the following happens:

    1. The message “Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with some different keywords.” is displayed;
    2. The field for new search displays the placeholder “Search for…”

    How do I customize the reply message when a post is not found?
    How do I customize the search field placeholder?

    Thank you for using Neve.

    The placeholder of the search form within the header can be customized from the Customizer – screenshot.

    The text stating there were no search results can be replaced with this plugin as it’s available in the pot file of the theme, that is related to translations.

    Hi @stefancotitosu, thank you for your quick reply and suggestions. I tried your suggestions but whitout success. Let me clarify a little more the question:

    I am not trying to use Neve Search Form Component in Header or Footer.

    I’m searching in Blog Archive and no result was found. Therefore I want to customise the result text message and search field placeholder as stated in the below link:

    Unfortunately, it’s not possible to achieve this using the options from the theme. If you want to customize the search results page, it should be possible to do it using some custom code in the search.php file of the theme. However, we do not recommend making changes directly in the theme files as they will be overwritten with future updates. You could try to create a child theme to customize that page.
