I am trying to set up a multisite network and from what I have read I need to go to the wp-config.php file which does not exist. So I see that I need to go through the wp-config-sample.php ok did that. I entered the database name and username and password and now I’m kind of stuck what other info do I add and where do I get it from and then how do I save it in c-panel?

  • If you already have a WordPress install that you want to enable multi-side on then it has to have a wp-config.php file which is used by WordPress for database settings, etc. If you can’t find it you’ll need to ask your host where it is located and the easiest way to access it. It’ll vary from host to host.

I finally found it and entered what I needed to enter and that worked. Now I am having an issue setting up the .htaccess file I fix it in wordpad but it keeps saving it as a txt file how do I fix that?
