I’m sure this is a ridiculous simple question, but your theme screenshot shows 3 boxes below the search bar – I have no idea how to create them. Right now I just have a stream of my posts under the header. How am I creating the three call to action boxes?

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,

That is a page template, so you need to create a new page and choose ‘Homepage’ template from the Page templates box. Let me know if it works. ??

Indeed. Thanks for the quick response. Just to satisfy my lazy brain, can you point where in your documentation this lives? I looked but did not see it.

Sorry but I forgot to update the theme page. I’ll update it soon with new screenshots as well. So many things, so little time. ??

ok, so I’m not THAT lazy then LOL. Thanks again. It’s a nice theme. You might want to make the font color for the CTA in the header configurable in the Theme. Once I added my own background picture, it blended in with the white font and I had to go into the CSS to modify.

I’m one person managing 5-6 themes + working for a company, so it’s hard to maintain everything. If I had enough time, I’d turn this theme into something wonderful. It’s still a plan but no timeline so far. ??

Like I said – it’s a very nice theme as-is. Just given you ideas for when you have time to make it AWESOME.

Hardeep – I’m struggling again. I’m using the Documentor plugin, and I simply want the three main boxes on the home page to go to the Documentor Post, but I can’t get it to work. Check setup.bizyhood.com if you don’t mind. I’m all ears for suggestions.

I started with everything as a Post, but the problem is every post has to have a category, which then gets shown in a list for each main section. I don’t want that. I just want to go to the full page Documentor page for each section.

    Thanks in advance.

It’s not possible to do by default. In order to do it, you will have to edit /template-home.php file and replace the category loop with your post loop.

    Hi @demarkn,

Those are categories. You need to setup categories inside your WordPress to add more boxes to your homepage. Hope it helps. ??

Would these automatically appear on the home posts page? I created categories and they haven’t appeared. Or does a page need to be created and then set to home with the page template?

Yes, you need to create a new page and set it to home with a page template.
