How to create slider page without plugins

  • I am a novice in wordpress and working with some free available themes. In slider settings of those themes I did select pages which I want to appear as sliders on my webpage but nothing appears on the website.

    Also, I would like to add more sections to my homepage but couldn’t find a way to do so would I need to install a plugin for that as well.

    Apart from security plugins I have only installed classic editor plugin as well.

  • If the theme supplies the slider, you need to ask at the theme’s support forum for help there. There are no sliders in WordPress itself, so if you want one you have to use a theme or plugin to get it.

    Modifying the template for the home page is what a child theme is for. There are some plugins that help you create the child theme (then you remove the plugin).
