how to create pages with extensions like yoursite.com/name rather than ?page_id

Hello,

I was wondering how i can create extensions like with their own name rather than pages wordpress names itself automatically.

Like mysite.com/about rather than mysite.com/?page_id=2

I have an about page as well as some other pages created via admin panel but they are named as ?page_id=2, ?page_id=31, ?page_id=35.

is there any way to change the link extension of these pages i created by adding new page through the admin panel
