How to create membership profiles

Hi,
I basically need visitors to go to a registration page, where they can complete a registration form. The form needs to include some dropdown options and a photo upload.

Once they’ve registered, they will receive a login and password. Members should be able to login and see other pages, not visible to visitors. Therefore, I need to protect some content.

I’ve tried out a couple of plugins but the registration forms are limited. I’ve also tried custom contact forms but want these to link to creating members.
