    Hi Newspack Folks,
I was reviewing your plugin for potential usage and I wanted to confirm how I can create a local subscription list, as per: https://newspack.com/release-notes-january-9-2023/.
Could you please advise? I do not have a third-party vendor such as ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, or MailChimp, and would like to keep all my contact within WordPress itself.
Additionally, can you please advise what an “Advertiser” is used for in the context of creating a newsletter?
    Thanks very much,
    Matthew Huntely

    Hi Matthew!

Local lists are local in the sense that they can be created locally, without logging in to the ESP (e.g. Mailchimp) UI. So these still require an integration with an ESP. This plugin can’t send newsletters emails on its own.

Additionally, can you please advise what an “Advertiser” is used for in the context of creating a newsletter?

This plugin allows for injecting ads into newsletters, which are simply pieces of content (editable in WP) inserted at a specified point in the newsletter content. An “Advertiser” is an entity that groups multiple ads.
