How to create gallery on frontpage as in Karuna example

    Dear reader,

    How can I create a gallery in the full width footer as shown in the Karuna demo site?

    When I add a gallery widget to the full width footer the images are always displayed as thumbnails and always aligned left as if the full width footer has 2 or 3 columns.

    It does not matter how many images I include in the gallery, frankly the same happens when I add just one image using the image widget.

    Are you talking about the photos from the studio section on the theme demo? That is a gallery added in to the site footer. Check out the set up instructions for more details: https://wordpress.com/theme/karuna

    Yes that is the one I am talking about.

    I have followed the setup instructions, but the gallery widget inside the full width footer is not displayed in full width. Instead the gallery is aligned left and displaying small images.

    As described earlier, it almost looks like the full width footer is displayed in 2 or 3 columns.

    I just did a clean install of WP 5.x with Karuna and followed the instructions:
    https://www.vliestroompje.nl. The 4 images in the gallery are set to display in full size and I have set the gallery to 1 column.

    I am curious though on how you have managed to display the images on the demo site in the collage view..

    Hi Jeroen,

    Could you check a couple of things for me?

    1. It looks you may have added an image widget but the Photos from the studio uses a gallery widget (in the Full-Width Footer area).
    2. Tiled mosaic is selected as the type in Gallery Settings — this is what creates the collage style layout.

    Searching for Tiled Mosaic let me to a required jetpack setting “Galerijen in tegels” that I needed to enable.
