How to create a slug

    I am trying to place a new category on the side of all our pages. I have added the category but cannot link it to the post on the News & Specials page that I want to be seen on all pages. I have looked through the Word doc and trouble shooting but cannot find how to create the slug?? Thanks for the help – T
