How to create a simple help system

Hello,
I feel a bit ashamed asking what must be a really simple thing to achieve but I just can’t figure it out and I am not sure what to search for to find the answers.

I want to create a simple help page. There will be a “help” link in the footer going to a page where there will be a load of topics ( FAQ, how to do this, how to do that, etc etc) that you can click on to bring up a page for each topic. Ideally a layout where there the help topics are listed down one side and the selected topic appears on the other side, or something similar.

Any help would be most appreciated
