How to create a search filter

Hi,

I’d like to create a search filter as shown at the start page of

automobile.de

but don’t know how?

It should become a search filter with multiple select dropdown fields.

And I assume it’s implemented with custom-post-types and custom taxonomies.

I read about these plugins, some of them I’m testing already, but they don’t give the results I need.

– Magic Fields
– taxonomy picker
– query-multiple-taxonomy

Does anyone know if I can implement such a search filter with these plugins or other plugins?

How would I do this with coding, e.g. which functions should I use?
