I’m trying to create a page, but without actually creating a page in the menu bar. Does that make sense?

For example, I want to add the privacy policy in my footer. In order for that to be visible, I have to create a page for people to see it…but I don’t want it to be on my menu bar.

Is there a way for me to create a page I can link to without having an “official” page? What would you suggest is best when creating a privacy policy? You can look at my blog to understand what I mean.

  • Hi Mentalsuite,

thanks for using MH Magazine lite.

If any page you create automatically appears in your menu bar, then you haven’t created a custom menu yet. By default WordPress will add any new pages to your menu.

You can create a custom menu with your preferred menu items in your WordPress dashboard under Appearance => Menus. Here you can find more information: How to create Custom Menus in WordPress.

We also have a video about that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llTW8Rwq0iE

In the Menu Settings, I do not have the option to select ‘Footer Navigation’

Below are my only 2 options in the Menu Settings:

Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu
    Main Navigation

The additional menu slots are available in the premium version of MH Magazine.

That being said, the only way I can do what I’m asking is to get the premium version?

If you want to have the additional menu slots, like the footer menu, then yes. These aren’t available in the free theme. You can see the footer menu when having a look at the theme demos of the premium theme.

But if you simply want to add custom menu items to your main navigation, then you can do this of course by creating a custom menu. Or you could for example place a Custom Menu widget into one of the footer widget areas.
