• Hello, I currently have an existing/live Divi template website. I’d like to redesign the site “behind the scenes” without disrupting the existing/live site. I’ve watched the Duplicator videos but I am not seeing how to do this.

While keeping in mind that I am not a developer, please explain to me how I can do the following:
    1. Create a new but hidden version of my Divi website in the WordPress dashboard without disrupting my current website

    2. Once my new site is complete how do I replace the existing/live website with the new one?

    Thank you!

  • Hello @jluszcz

You need to create a development copy of your current site. This means that you need to migrate your site to a new location, either it will be a subfolder/subdomain on your live server, or you can work it on the localhost using XAMP or MAMP.

See here how you can migrate your site to a new location:

You can also use plugins like All-in-One WP Migration. It will be easier to use a plugin like this.

Once all the tasks on the site are completed, you can use the same method to migrate from the development copy back to your live site.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    Nastia
