How to create a menu using Widgets

  • Hello everyone
    I have installed a new theme called ‘channel’ and here’s the live link: https://thinkpositive-lb.org/new/
    if I go to Appearance-> menus
    the Theme locations displays this message:
    The current theme does not natively support menus, but you can use the “Custom Menu” widget to add any menus you create here to the theme’s sidebar.
    So I clicked on Widgets, I have many titles in the Available Widgets section, Two titles in the inactive widgets, and four titles on the right (Full width widgets/Left/right/footer/widgets)
    Custom Menu is under the Available widgets.
    The big question is how to create a menu!
    Do I need to create categories first or what?
    I can’t understand this kindly help

  • Set up at least 1 custom menu via Appearance->Menus first. Ten add the Custom Menu widget to your sidebar and select your menu from its dropdown.

    Ok I created a custom menu (named it services) via Appearance->Menus.
    Do I need to add pages or categories to this custom menu?

    Then I clicked on Widgets, i dragged the custom menu and added it to full width widget side bar, I selected the menu (Services) and added a title then saved my work,
    nothing new appears in the Home page.
    also note that the Home button shown in the home page was named (uncategorized) and it is a category name, i just renamed it.
    plz help thanks

    Yes I can do add the (custom menu) widget to any of the sidebar located on the right side of the page
    I added the custom menu to all four side bars but it is not showing in the home page.
    I am sure there’s smthg silly I don’t know, cuz i am new to wordpress, but I love it!

    Can you add any of the other widgets to the sidebar and do they appear on the sidebar of the home page?
