how to create a link from a blog

  • Although I follow the instructions slavishly I cannot create a link from my blog to a magazine article’s URL. I type “read about it here” in my blog then highlight it and click the underlined link icon. I paste the URL I want to link to into the pop up box and click ‘Add link’ then ‘publish’ but when I check my site I find that the link hasn’t worked. Grateful for any advice on where I’m going wrong.

    This should work – Select HTML editor then type, <a href="url">Words</a>

    If I understand you correctly – no I can’t link to the page. All I see on my blog is the copy I wrote with the “Read more here” then it’s blank.

    I’ll try Prasanna SP’s suggestion later this afternoon.

    I’ll try…..

    An additional complication is that sometimes my ‘Add new page’ sheet shows the blue underlined link as above and sometimes the chain link symbol. Neither work for me, nor do I understand why I sometimes get one page and not the other.

    If it helps…. the underlined blue “link” on this page leads to a different pop up box than the one I was getting from the ‘add new page’ sheet on my blog.

    And… when I try to use the chain link symbol from inside my blog it is completely dead – nothing happens at all.
    Hope you can shed light on this problem.

    Just one other small thing..
    Is there a way of highlighting ‘Words’ in Words so it stands out in another colour?
