How to create a dropdown language switcher on menu?

Hello

Did you check it in the “screen options”? See 4-Creating menus.

what i meant was the menu on my homepage..

When i add the language switcher, it is just as many tabs as languages exist

so if i have 2 languages installed, i see two tabs on my main menu..
but this is not a normal switcher, as dropdown selection menu tab.

how can i change that?

I see this option on Widget Page:

but the option “displays as dropdown list” is not on Menu Page where i actually need it.

It’s impossible to have a widget dropdown in your menu. You can use the pll_the_languages() function.

Or you can use in Menu the “Custom Links” (put # for as URL) metabox and put in sub-item the “Language switcher” metabox.

never wanted that..maybe u misunderstood me ??

but its strange anyway, that in a widget u can choose displaying it as dropdown, and in menu not whether other language plugins support this..

to the function..how can i place it in the menu to look like the menu then? with css features etc?

your last suggestion is a good workaround, that i didnt come up with ??

it works with it now, but anyway other menu links are pointing to the english /en/ page when hovering over it, instead of /de/ when im actually on /de/ page..
hmm..any suggestion to that??

if u hover over the menu tabs, u see english page links..thats wrong..

EDIT: ok, i didnt know that i also have to refresh the menu in the appearance settings after translating a page..is that always like this?

In your Deutsch menu did you put your content (posts, pages, custom links …) in Deutsh and not in English?
