How to create a custom member area in wordpress dashboard

  • Hi
    I am building a university alumni website. Where I want to add a member diretory option as a post type. And i also want to add search like date range searching,name, place searching. i have tried manu plugins but none of them has the date range searching.

    How can I develop the member diretory without using any plugin.

    Need some suggestions / Tutorials / guidence about it. Its urgent
