• Hi!

I have a table containing text in HTML. Nothing fancy, just a basic 3 columns, 15 rows sort of thing. I put all HTML code for it in the HTML portion of the post. Then update. At this point I see the table and its contents in the main window for the post.

Now, if I click on “Save and Continue” “Save” or “Publish”, the table gets reduced automatically to just the first row. Going back into the HTML section, everything has been deleted but for the first row.

Does anyone know why this is happening or even how to get it to stay?

    Thank you!

  • Are you copying the code into the wysiwyg editor? I hope not.
If yes, don’t do it ever if you put your code in a post.

Just the plain, old editor = meaning disable the RTE.

    Moshu,

Thanks. I put the HTML code for the table in the “Edit HTML Source” section under “Write Post.”

When I update it, it switches back to the regular Write Post section. I see the table there but it dissapears when I try to save it or post it.

    Any thoughts? Thank you.

No, no. When I say disable it, I mean completely. That popup window doesn’t help.
DISABLE the wysiwyg if you want to use your own code. Period.

    Moshu,

    You rule! Infinite thanks!

Just another thank you for this! I disabled the ‘rich editor’ checkbox in the options>writing section, but that didn’t work. Glad I found this thread!

Based on the reason that I only can insert tables in the plain text mode, I start to write this short plugin :

Maybe it’s interesting for anybody …
