How To: Cookie-Free Subdomain Without Rewrite to WWW

Hi guys,

one of the YSlow suggestions is to use cookie free domains for your pictures.

Is there a way to make a subdomain cookiefree without rewriting the original domain to https://www.domain.com?

I know there is a setting WP_COOKIE_Domain or so, but it won’t work unless you use www in front of your site, but I don’t want that.
