How to control what pages go into the menus

    Am a real fan of the Catch Box Theme. It’s clean and very important, mobile responsive. However, there is one thing that I cannot get my head around.

    I there a way to include the functionality or tweak it yourself, that you can actually control WHAT pages are included in the various menu points. Unless I’ve always managed to overlook it, but it seems that any published page will either be added as a menu point or as part of a menu point. What if you have 50 pages under one menu point, the list is going to drop below the fold. So there should be an option to include/exclude newly published pages.

    In the dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus. There you can create your own menu, that will automatically be loaded on the website, which then you can choose the items to be included.

    Thanks, ok great! I give this one a go. Why didn’t I think of this myself? I know, as some other templates I use behave differently. For instance, the manually created menu will be generated as a widget with no dropdown functionality and is therefore static.

    I’ll check it out, thanks again. I may have to get back to you though at some stage ??

    Ok, it doesn’t quite seem to do what I’m looking for.

    I’ve added a menu with a page and chose the option ‘submenu’ (the option ‘main’ would replace the currently existing menu bar), but it places it under the ‘main’ menu bar as a single entry. When I tested adding another page to it, it placed that entry next to the first, but not within the hierarchy.

    What I’m trying to achieve is – have a menu point within the main menu, under which I can include only the required pages. For example, some other template gives you that option from within the page creation dashboard i.e. show or not show the page within any given main menu.

    Also I suppose, when creating a new page, that page will be show somewhere within the main menu regardless, either as a main point or sub point. I guess, when creating custom menus and selecting that example page, the template should understand to place it there and not have it featured in two locations subsequently.

    Nevertheless, that doesn’t fix the first issue ??
