    Hello there,

Apparently my website got hacked and I can’t modify the plug-in section neither access to plug-in configuration of wpform.

How to configure and test the plug-in through the database or the file?

Apparently it doesn’t seem working even if it says message message sent.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you :))

    Hi @numeractive,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I apologize, but I’m not sure I understand this part: “I can’t modify the plug-in section neither access to plug-in configuration of wpform.” When you get a chance, could you record a video showing the issue? That way, I can provide further assistance on where to go in the database.

We have an article with details about our datatable structure here: https://wpforms.com/how-to-save-your-contact-form-data-in-wordpress-database/.

However, the forms and its settings are available in the wp_posts table. Because of this, I would need to understand where is the issue to provide more details about where to look into the database.

Thanks, and please let me know!

Hello there and thank you for your answer.

In fact, as I got hacked, there are a lot of issues with some htaccess I guess, and I want to edit and test the forms but it’s not working at all.

Here is a gif explaining that.

    Hi @numeractive,

Looking at your GIF, we can see the same “Access forbidden” error (screenshot) when you click on the Add New button on the Plugins page.

It seems the issue is with server settings.

With this, I recommend you reach out to your hosting provider support. Share with them all those details, as the GIF. They should be able to help you get this sorted out.

Possibly, they will need to use a backup from before your site was hacked.

After your host resolves the issue, I’d recommend updating your plugins and theme to prevent security threats. Looking at the GIF, it seems you have 17 plugins with updates available.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @numeractive,

Kenneth here, filling in for Ralden.

I’m afraid that it is not possible to configure and trigger email notifications from the database. We only store field settings and some sets of configuration settings in the database in the Lite version of the plugin. You can only test form submission by interacting with the plugin from the WordPress interface. I would suggest getting in touch with your host so that they can help to recover your site from an earlier backup.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @numeractive,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re still having issues with email delivery.?

To troubleshoot the issue, did get a chance to check that your form notification settings are configured correctly by following our tutorial.?

If you’ve confirmed that your notification settings are correct, the issue is likely because the emails sent from WordPress are not authenticated (unlike emails sent directly from dedicated email service providers). As a result, they are likely to be filtered by the receiving mail server.

To resolve email delivery issues like this, you can configure a SMTP plugin on your site so that emails are sent as authenticated. We have an article with a list of recommended SMTP options and links to their setup tutorials.

    I hope this helps!
