The plugin sounds nice, but how whould i configure it? I would like to add one competition with its games and the users may only choose 1 team(they all receive same team).

Second, is it possible to integrate it in a forum so i need only one registration?

    Many thanks for the help.

Adding one competition with games is easy. I would suggest to just play around a bit with the plugin on a test environment (or hide the pages from your users).
Once the games are set to what you want, you can always export the games, teams, etc. and import on another environment. You won’t loose that hard work.

Not sure what you mean with ‘may only choose 1 team’. Can you explain a bit more?

The plugin uses the standard WordPress users and login. So, if the forum also supports this or is able to integrate into WordPress, then you will only need one registration.

Many thanks for the reply. I am creating a WordPress site for a couple of friends. We are all fan of the same team. I would like the pool to be a pool for that team only. Lets say we are for Oxfordn United. Everyone van only “bet” for Oxford’s matches against …

I see. If you only enter the matches for your team in the plugin, then those are the only ones that can be predicted. But I guess you also want to show the other matches for the other teams on a match day as well, but then ‘read-only’ for your friends? Unfortunately, this is not possible in the plugin. There is no ‘can be predicted’ parameter for a match. Whether a match is open for predictions or not, is solely based on the time and date of a match and a global setting in the plugin.

I can think of a couple of options:

    1. Enter the other matches after the prediction stop date has passed. That will prevent entry of predictions for those newly added matches, but you can still show them on the list of matches for the match day.
    2. Write an extension to the plugin that adds an extra parameter for a match. And only make matches for your selected team available for predictions.
    3. Enter all matches for the other teams in a separate Match Type and hide that Match Type (this is a standard option for a Match Type) until after the prediction stop has passed. You’ll have to manually change the option for that Match Type to show it to your friends.

Second one requires some PHP coding knowledge of course.

For the first option you can set the stop date to e.g. one day (1 day = 86400 seconds) before the match of your team starts, that will give you some time to enter the other matches after the prediction slot has closed.

    Hope this helps.

Have been playing with it and i really like it. But noticed i cannot send you an espresso, is your paypal still working?

Also, if i want to go live with the pool, how should i link it to my website and can users enroll after registration?

Looks like the button/link is still working. Although I notice that PayPal changed the layout completely from the last time I checked. Maybe a short hickup in their service?
You can also use a direct link to my PayPal account: https://www.paypal.me/wpfootballpool

If you go live with the plugin, you will have to add the relevant links to the plugin pages to your site navigation to make them available to your users. Whether you want to add the links to your menu, a link list or some call-to-action buttons on a page is up to you.

Existing users in your WP install can be added to the pool by you via the Football Pool ? Users admin screen. New user registrations will automatically be added to the pool.

Are the games in a visible match type?

If you share a link, or if you give me temp access to your admin, I can take a look to see if I can figure out what is wrong.

And the espresso has been send

    Thanks!

Am getting errors, no players in the pool and no matches to count.
Strange, i did add matches, did create a pool and there are players.
