    Hello,
I am having a heck of a time with this plug-in. Somehow things have gotten corrupt. The problem I am having is that on a couple of pages, first occurrences of certain glossary words refuse to be recognized – sometimes 2 & 3 occurrences of the glossary word before it is tipped properly. For instance, I can have something like: I like dogs. I don’t know why I like dogs, I just like dogs. In my case the second or third occurrence will be tipped, but it is as if the first one or two don’t exist. This is with the selection on ‘first occurrence of word only’ in settings. The funny thing is that I can uncheck to recognize and tag all occurrences of word and those same words not “seen” before still won’t get tipped. In the editor, they are all just plain text so don’t understand. Also, on another page, if I add some more material to the page – sometimes another glossary word, sometimes not – at some point all the glossary tips above the new stuff just go away as if they were never tipped in the first place. I am thinking that something is corrupt because I was testing several different glossary/dictionary plugins at a once (only one enabled at a time, but switching back an forth a lot). The problem only seems to occur on 2 pages that existed at the time. If I create a new page (name) and new material, all seems to be ok. If I create a new page with a different name but with the same material pasted in, problem is back. If I delete all material on affected pages and type it back manually, sometimes it works until it type one of the glossary words that were on the problem page and then all words above that one that were tipped become untipped. I tried deleting all of the problem pages in word press and also in MyPHP (page plus all revisions) , but when I create a new page using same name as before, problem returns. Somehow the corruption seems to be tied to the page name and glossary words themselves linked to those 2 pages. I notice that when I delete the plugin and re-install, it remembers the page id and other settings, but I was expecting it to revert to its first install default. I can’t find the file that retains this info, thus the request of how to COMPLETELY remove the plugin as if I never installed it. I am hoping that on re-install, my problem may be fixed. I have already deleted and re-installed several times to no avail. I don’t want to have to totally wipe out my whole website and start over, so can someone help me with this. I am using the free version 2.4.5 right now till I am sure it will work for me before I purchase. I really like the plugin, but this problem is killing me. Thanks.

Sounds like a problem we usually find when the space between the words is not a real space but something like  . I suggest to edit the test erase the “space” before the term which was supposed to be linked and add a space using the spacebar
If for some reason you can delete the plugin files this is usually due to file permissions on your server. The best way than would be to use some sort of file transfer protocol (ftp) and log into the server and remove the plugin directory

Well, I have tried all that. As I said, I have even deleted everything on the offending page and went back in and MANUALLY typed in the same material that I had tried just copying and pasting, but at some point when I type a word that is in my glossary, all the words correctly tipped above the offending word become untipped and even if I go back and use undo to remove what I just typed, the previously working tips won’t come back until I restore a previous auto-saved revision page. I have verified that when I delete the plugin from the Word Press desktop option, that the directory is deleted from the server – there is no trace. But when I reinstall the plugin, the information in plugin settings doesn’t revert to the default version that was there on FIRST install. My setting changes are somehow retained and show back up. My page ID is listed as the last one I used, and other options changed by me are where I left them. If the plugin shows as being deleted off the server from the plugin directory, how is it possible that upon reintall the settings in the plugin are where I left them before deleting the plugin after? It would seem that that info might be stored somewhere else outside of the Enhanced Tool-tip directory under Plugins on the server, or why would they keep returning as I left them before delete. I was hoping that there might be some other leftover files related to your plugin that don’t get deleted properly from the server because they reside outside of the plugin directory and that might be related to my problem. If that is the case, I was hoping you might know where they may be and I could delete them to see if that solves my problem. If there is no chance of stray files somewhere else, then I guess I am out of luck and will need to wipe out my entire site and start over. I really want your plugin to work for me, so not ready to give up. Any other thoughts?

Once you delete the plugin from your WP the files should be deleted from the wp-content/plugins directory unless you have some misconfiguration in your folders permissions
As for the database with all the terms and the setting this is not deleted once you remove the plugin so all previous settings are kept including the terms
The problem with the space may be in your posts and not in the tooltip terms. Please check if the space between words in your posts is a real space or something else which looks like a space
