    I want to show the sidebar on a product page, but only if the product type is not e.g. ‘boards’. I can negate the condition, but this will also negate the first condition, namely all products (= product pages).

    Yes, unfortunately the negation does not work like that with other conditions, it it something that is being worked on.

    For now, you could use this setup:

    Product Page Sidebar:
    Conditions: All Products
    Replace: Main/Default Sidebar

    Not Boards Sidebar (or a better name ?? )
    Conditions: NOT boards product type
    Replace: Product Page Sidebar

    That will make sure that the latter sidebar will only be displayed on the product page, and only if it is not a boards type.
