Thanks for a great product, which is working well except for the following.

How do I clear old update data from my scanner results (WP Security > Scanner > Latest File Change Scan Results)? I’ve tried “Performing a Scan Now”, but whenever I “View Last File Change”, it is still showing old update results – and sends me an email with a HUGE list of old update changes.

Please, I can’t find where to clear this scanner log on a particular website. On another website, I am able to clear it manually by re-running the scan after updating plugins. Are you aware of any reason why the log won’t clear on my problem website?

    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
When you click the “Perform Scan Now” button (when you know there have been no file changes), what is the message you see after the scan has completed?
Does the message say: “Scan Complete – There were no file changes detected”?

    Hi,
When I “Perform Scan Now”, it says:
All In One WP Security & Firewall has detected that there was a change in your host’s files.

Then when I view the changes, it says:-
There have been no file changes since the last scan.
But it lists 10 old file changes in the Scan Results on screen. But in my email, there are hundreds listed.

It fills up my php-error log with details about:
    “WordPress database error Got a packet bigger than ‘max_allowed_packet’ bytes for query UPDATE ecmu_aiowps_global_meta SET date_time = ‘2017-01-30 20:58:42’, meta_key1 = ‘file_change_detection’, meta_value1 = ‘file_scan_data’, meta_value4 = ‘a:8486:”

That error log explains the cause of your problem – ie, your DB configuration is preventing the update of the table row for the file scan results based on the value of your server’s “max_allowed_packet” configuration item.
I recommend that you show that error to your host provider support people and ask them if they can check your DB configuration and perhaps increase the value for “max_allowed_packet”.

Thanks so much, I’ll work on that!
