How to choose different file types for the Downloadable product?

I want files for sale to be zip-only

You can upload a zip file directly under File URL next to Downloadable files:

Doesn’t this work for you? I’m not sure why you have to use the ‘upload_mimes’ filter but it is something to report to the hosting provider if this function is not working on your site.

I want the zip to always be there.
I don’t want png, jpg, something etc.

I want to block the ability to add other types of files.

Perfect, thanks for clarifying that. At the moment, there’s no default option to restrict uploads to zip files only in WooCommerce, and customizing that would require a bit of additional coding. We don’t provide support for customizations but I found the following link that may point you in the right direction:

I just tested it and unfortunately it also works for the thumbnail.
