UM does not seem to have a way to charge membership fees. Can it be done with something, like some plugin or add-on ?

Also can we make it a requirement for some new sign-ups to be approved before letting into the community?

I just installed this plugin, exploring all of its possibilities. Thank you all.

    Hi @newance,

Unfortunately, Ultimate member doesn’t have membership fees option in the current version of the plugin, you can try to use WooCommence subscription addon.

You can turn on “Require admin review” in Ultimate member -> User roles -> your user role and Registration Status option.

    Regards.

    Hi there,

Thank you for the reply. I’ve been exploring this plugin this past week and found it much more versatile than Buddypress. But not sure if I missed out something or what, some functionalities don’t seem to work they intend to.

    1. The Online User extention does not work at all. I changed theme to 2017 and deactivated all plugins one by one and the extension never worked even once. I checked UM setting and did not see anything particularly pertaining to this extension added after activating the extension. So what’s wrong?

    2. I currently have free version of Um and free version of WooCommerce.

When I restrict a product to certain UM community roles, despite the fact when clicking on the restricted product, restricted members wil be directed to the home page, the product would still show up on the Shop page and these members can still add it to cart. This does not make any sense. Is it the way it is or do i need to have your WC extension installed in order for the restricted product to disappear from the Shop page?

You mentioned Restrict Content Pro for member subscription and charge members, but i don’t see an UM extension for integrating to RCP. Does that mean with RCP we don’t need one, unlike WC Subscription extension? And which one, generally speaking, work better with UM? What are the main differences between them? Is RCP also based on WooCommerce?

    3. Is the login page the only way a member can login and out instead of a widget like in Buddypress?

    Thank you.

    Sincerely

I apologize for not describing the Online User problem accurately above. I submitted the thread last night after spending 8 hours straight trying to integrate every element of UM to other plugins on my site and i was already tired. Anyway, no excuse ??

The little dot indicating an user is online does appear but he can’t hide it. Every time I select to hide it, after entering the request it just bounced back to not hiding.

    Thank you.

    Hi @newance,

    1. Can you please clarify what do you want to hide?
Have you seen our doc on How to set up Online users extension?

    2. Ultimate member doesn’t compatible with Restrict Content Pro.

    3. Yes, you should use login page.

    Regards.

“2. Ultimate member doesn’t compatible with Restrict Content Pro.”
I learned about RCP from your website and the page specifically mentioned RCP for paid membership functionality with UM. Now you’re telling me it’s not compatible with UM. This is confusing.

“3. Yes, you should use login page.”
    My original question was

“Is the login page the only way a member can login and out instead of a widget like in Buddypress?”

    Thank you.
