  • Rather than hacking a .htaccess rule, I think a much better way would be to permanently change the file paths. You could use something like the Search Regex plugin to change every erroneously named file to be lower case.

    If you choose to do this, I would first backup my database via phpMyAdmin. I’d then make a copy of the database, and change wp-config.php to point to the copy. If all then goes wrong, you’re then a one line edit away from recovering your site.
