How-To change URL format?

Hi every one
my question is about the URL format of my wordpress blog, i am new to wordpress and i searched on google about it but did’nt fount some good results.currently the URL appears on my individual posts is something like this:
https://www.SITENAME.com/?p=39but i want its format like this:
https://www.SITENAME.com/2008/09/39/post-title-should-be-there/i want anyone to please make me understand about this thing in simple words that how i can convert my URL to my desired format and please also tell me that is this “https://www.SITENAME.com/2008/09/39/post-title-should-be-there/” form of URL beneficial for SEO thing?
