I installed the plugin while developing a blog for a client on my local server, and connected it to my personal Twitter account. Now that the site is online, I want to connect the plugin to the client’s Twitter account. I deleted the plugin and all data files for it, then reinstalled it, but when I went selected the Connect to Twitter button it once again connected to my personal Twitter. How can I get it to connect to a new Twitter account? This does not seem to be in the install instructions, FAQs, etc. TY for your help, and for a great plugin.

    Hi beautypeakwebdesign,

When you click on the ‘Connect to Twitter’ button, if you are currently logged into the Twitter website, it instantly attempts to gain permission to access that account.

To connect to your clients account, you would need to logout of the Twitter website, and then click the ‘Connect to Twitter’ button on the plugin. It will now ask for login details, before requesting permission for the account you login as.

I am really pleased you like the plugin, I have noted that you had difficulty with this and that the documentation did not cover it. I will make sure we address it when re-doing the documentation soon. Thank you for the feedback!

I hope that makes sense, if not or if you have any more questions don’t hesitate to let me know.

Thanks for the quick response. I was able to connect to the correct account by logging into it before attempting to Connect to Twitter.

However, when I attempted to reconnect before (when it reconnected to my personal Twitter) I did not have Twitter open in a tab in my browser. I had not logged out of my account last time I used it, just closed the browser tab. Is the app pulling the Twitter account info from a cookie in my browser? I am using Google Chrome running under Linux Royal (Ubuntu based).

    Hi beautypeakwebdesign,

When you click the ‘Connect to Twitter’ button, we actually forward you to the Twitter website. So if you did not logout when you were last on, it will still recognise you and knows that you are logged in (just as if you go back to the website yourself and it doesn’t ask you to login again). It is almost certainly using cookies in your browser.
